Art of Giving Back: Aster Public School, Noida Extension (Support during the flood, as part of the Pandemic and Disaster Management)

Aster Public School Noida Extension, was one of the school which supported the ‘school children affected by Kerala Floods’. HelpingBrainz through their ‘Art of Giving Back’ programme, requested Aster to support the victims of the flood.

Under the scope of this programme, school children from the urban areas support children from the rural and underprivileged areas, thereby ibculcating the habbit of ‘giving back’ from their school days. With the support of School Principal and their ever supportive staff, children from Aster, Noida were motivated to collect school stationery items and related stuffs for the affected and underprivileged children from Kerala. The stuffs packed and transported by Helping Brainz.

We salute the students and teachers for their dedication and hardwork. Thanks to Aster Noida and to Helping Brainz Team Members Unnat Bansal, Neha Babu, Surbhi Dhingra and Pragya Aggarwal who dedicated their weekends for the cause.

Helping Brainz didn’t have a team in Aurangabad, and we just had Gopikaa Didi working for Helping Brainz from Aurangabad. When Helping Brainz started collating the flood relief materials, we contacted Gopikaa Didi who works as a webdesigner and educationist in Tender Care Home Aurangabad and shared an idea. She spoke to the mentor/Director of her school Mrs. Shailaja Kekre and she made children realize the situation in kerala which also made the children socially aware and responsible from school days Itself.

The followup and hardwork of making the children socially aware was all done by the Mentor/Director Mrs. Shailaja Kekre mam. Tender care students , Sahajayiga Meditation Aurangabad and Vaidya Academy collated school stationaries and pulses.

Taking inspiration from them other institutions also started supporting and thereby youngsters started volunteering for Helping Brainz, and today we have a team theThanks to the wonderful work done by Vaidya Academy, Sahajayoga Meditation Centre Aurangabad and Principal Madam Mrs. Sheet Kekre, Director; Mrs. Shailaja Kekre and Staff OF Tender Home Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Gopikaa Vaidya, Vishal Thore, Shashank Saraswat, Sagar Maali, Shrikant Kulkarni, Prathamesh Tapadiya Vijay Prajapati and Kabir Kulkarni.

Old Age Home from Delhi Supports Kerala Floods

#MatterOfInspiration
#KeralaFloods

From the day our team started working for Kerala Flood Victims there have been numerous stories to inspire many of our young Helping Brainz mates. The story of Sai Sahara Old Age Home, Rajendra Place, Delhi was one among them.

The day we decided to send materials to Kerala, we shared socialmedia broadcasts and news about the same to all our friends, colleagues, connected-corporates and organizational partners. It was then Dr.Rajeshwari, the founder of Sai Sahara Old Age Home called us and agreed to donate 50KGs of Rice, Sugar and Pulses to the Victims. These were the donations the 17 grandmas and grandpas received for their livelihood however they had the opinion that “let the needy get these items, they are in need of these items more than us”.

Helping Brainz ElderlyCare Projects Team is working with Sai Sahara Old Age Home for the past few years. We humbly salute Dr.Rajeshwari Ma’am and all grandmas and grandpas for their divine love towards humanity.

Flood support from Tender Care Home, Aurangabad

Students, Staffs and Parents from Tender Care Home, Aurangabad who has shown solidarity towards the Kerala rebuilding process, in association with Helping Brainz Aurangabad packaging the collated materials for rail transport.

1000+ students and their parents, plus their teaching staffs have collected school stationaries and grains for Kerala Flood Victims.

As Aurangabad doesn’t have a stoppage for a specific Kerala train, these shall be first transported to Manmad Railway Station via train from Aurangabad, and then to Helping Brainz Kerala.

Thanks Tender Care Home, Aurangabad 🙂

#Day1 Donations at West Kadungalloor, Aluva, Kerala

Team Helping Brainz in association with Cochin Refineries, Cochin participated in the rebuilding material distributions in the flood affected areas of West Kadungaloor, Aluva. Materials which included groceries, mats, blankets, men/and women dresses were given to 15 families along with a set of school stationaries to 400+ school children. Materials were sponsored Helping Brainz (collated from Rohini, Delhi), Cochin Refineries and Prashant Venugopal. Donation drive was led by Nidhi P.Menon (Chapter Leader, Helping Brainz Kerala), Prashant Venugopal (Team Member, Helping Brainz Kerala) and Avyuth Menon.

West Kadungaloor being a village panchayat just 2KMs from Periyar River, was one of the bad hit regions in the Kerala Floods, affecting all human establishments and vegetations.

In the rebuilding mission, Helping Brainz in collaboration with Cochin Refineries and few selected NGOs and humans for a social cause have selected few schools and villages in the devastated areas of flood hit Kerala. The rebuilding materials ranging from groceries, household goods and school stationaries items are sourced, from various Helping Brainz centres in India, through road and rail transport directly to these areas. Materials collected are repacked and distributed by Helping Brainz Kerala Team.

TCH, Aurangabad donates school stationaries for Kerala Flood Victims

TCH, Aurangabad was one of the first school who got ready to donate School Stationaries and School Rebuilding materials with Helping Brainz, in Helping Brainz’s Ujjwal Kerala programme.

They’re kids and their are our inspiration. They only know that their religion is humanity.

Weekend Teaching by Roshni and Arun from Helping Brainz

Roshni Nipane and Arun John from Helping Brainz family volunteered for a day of happiness, fun and education at Government School in Bhaktavarpur, Noida. They volunteered to conduct fun oriented educational activities mainly consisting of “fruits and vegetable quiz” and “sentence making”. They mainly focussed students from Class 2,3,4 and 5.

These activities are first of it’s kind happening in Bhaktavarpur School and our efforts to motivate 100+ underprivileged children towards ‘regular and quality education’ is giving us a new/and energized hope towards child empowerment in rural Noida. Thanks to Roshni’s and Arun’s wholehearted efforts.

Development of a school in the Gram Bhaktawarpur, Sector 127, Noida

We would like to take your attention towards a school based in Gram Bhaktawarpur, Sector 127, Noida. The school was established in 1996 and educates around 114 children (62 males and 52 females), whose parents are mainly daily wage labourers and workers, with the help of you 4 staffs (1 male and 3 females). Conditions of the benches and desks, blackboards and school-walls are pathetic. The school has an average sanitation facility which is mainly maintained by the principal of the school, and interesting the school doesn’t have a drinking water facility. Over the years NGOs and CSR councils had visited them (and provided them with dress, sweaters, bags and notebooks) however, according to the principal it was a one-time investment from their end. Security of the girl child (students) is a matter of great concern in the school.

Helping Brainz would like to invite volunteers and contributors for the educational and infrastructural development of the school. We would like to start with our favorite event :

  • ‘Ujjwal – a day with Chotus’ (School Stationery distributions and One Time meal distributions) , followed by
  • Health Check-up and Health Awareness campaigns,
  • Educational and Career Counselling Sessions,
  • Campaigns on Environmental Sustainability,
  • Parents Counselling Sessions, and
  • TeachWithHelpingBrainz programmes.

We would invite more ideas to take this forward. For volunteering and contributions, and for further details please write to help@helpingbrainz.org or Call/WhatsApp 97111 89900. Thanks for the field visits and audits performed by Helping Brainz team members, Punit Upreti and Anu Dewal Choudhary.

HelpingBrain of the Month

Today being Vijayadashmi, we happily launch ”

“. A programme, conceptualized by Nidhi P. Menon (Nidhi Didi is a HelpingBrain from God’s Own Country), aims in identifying a HelpingBrain every month from various walks of life.

How’s a HelpingBrain?

The concept of being a HelpingBrain: We believe everyone is a Helping Brain, everyone is blessed with something unique skill and we try to enrich and furnish the skill set for community development, as we strongly believe that knowledge increases on sharing. Thus HelpingBrainz is a not an NGO however a phenomenon.

Stay tuned to hear about the First HelpingBrain from October 2017. For further information and to nominate someone please write to Nidhimenon@helpingbrainz.org
