Sameer Samudra and Amit Gokhale, an Indian gay couple, settled in the United States, had the courage to come out of their closets, declare their sexuality to their families and the world, and got married according to traditional Maharashtrian customs. Sameer and Amit may be one among the lakhs who had shown their courage wherein India may not be the most progressive of countries when it comes to LGBT rights, but if the recent flash mob in the capital is anything to go by, more and more people are coming out in support of decriminalizing homosexuality.
A Sunday (4th Oct 2015) evening in Connaught Place saw LGBT flash mob at Connaught Circus, one of the popular places in the city. The mob saw several youngsters get together, singing songs and shouting slogans on bisexuality and gay rights.
