Sneha Harsh
Practice Head - Public Relations, Communications and Media Management

Nestled in a small village of Jharkhand at present, Sneha Harsh is incredibly enthusiastic about creating the world an equal and safe place for deprived populations. She contributes to Helping Brainz (HB) as a leader for Regional Cooperation where she is operating as a skeleton, the back support of all the responsibilities that are being done in the organization, be it reaching a volunteer or maintaining the statistical database. Graduated from Lady Shri Ram College 2017, she completely rejoices the co-learning strategy that takes place in HB discussions over team meetings.

Being the head of the Public relations at Helping Brainz, she manages the brand Helping Brainz and actively monitors the communication with corporates, colleges and media houses.

She is a JASSO scholar and did her 1 year long research study at Fukuoka Women’s University, Japan. Soon after her independent study project on ‘The rural tourism in the contemporary Japan’ with the concern on ‘rural depopulation’ she took up an internship opportunity at a rural town ‘Tsuyazaki’ in Japan. The leadership experience she accumulated in Japan urges her to work for the Indo- Japan relationship through various projects. She can speak English, Hindi, Japanese and Nagpuri and Helping Brainz is fortunate to have a multilingual leader who is ready to blend in various kinds of situations and conversations.

Penning down her ordinary day in an extraordinary way is something you must read. She is an avid believer in the usefulness of meditation and minimalistic lifestyle. She’s always a generous listener and switched on with a big smile to help anyone who needs her support. When not working, Sneha prefers to spend time with her family, friends and visiting cosy cafes in the city. She is obsessed with dogs, tea and sunrises and enjoys travelling local and admires exploring the rural culture. She has learnt classical Indian music for eight years and has bagged prices in various competitions.

She always has fascinating stories to tell about her solo backpacking trips, her encounters with wonderful people, culture, cuisine and how it has transformed her life. She acknowledges that she has been supported by many kind souls while travelling alone so she enjoys hosting her friends or acquaintances wherever she is. Her home is always open for the warm hospitality and delicious food. Not just pursuing new skills, Sneha also believes in the idea of lifelong learning and keeps learning every day.

Her professional and academic concerns include women empowerment, education, eco-tourism and sustainability, body shaming, patriarchy and laws related to women and transgenders. She feels disheartened to confront socio-environmental causes like climate change, consumerism, gender-based violence, menstrual health, female foeticide, child marriage, domestic violence and sexual harassment and the poor condition of underprivileged sections in the country, hence she is associated with Helping Brainz from 2016 onwards assisting in various projects. Her goal is “not to change or compromise for the society but to change the society’s mindset and create a progressive environment”. Lady Shri Ram College also awarded her the S.M Luthra Award for her meritorious contributions to the college and being an aspiring changemaker in the society. Recently, she has accepted the admission offer at the University of British Columbia to pursue her Masters in Public Policy and Global Affairs from September 2020 onwards.
